Where did the name come from?

A restaurant with over 200 years of tradition (construction in 1776), where pharmacies operated over two centuries - a real pharmacy. The historical building is associated with a bear figurine that appeared on its facade in 1921. Earlier, there was an eagle in this place, and the building was named "Black Eagle Pharmacy" - since 1776. The tenement house, built at the end of the 18th century, had several owners, mostly related to the pharmacy. For over a hundred years it has belonged to the Rochon family, from which the founder of the famous "Apteka Pod Niedźwiedziem" came from, operating at Niedźwiedzia 11 from 1922. The pharmacy activity in the tenement house ended in 1951. Later, the heyday in this place was experienced by, among others "Bar Pod Niedźwiadkiem" remembered by the inhabitants of Bydgoszcz. At the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, various activities were carried out in the building, until now, when the tenement house regained its splendor and, according to tradition, an Pharmacy was established here, but in a completely different edition …

Currently, it is famous for Polish cuisine, modeled on old regional recipes, dishes served in a pharmacy manner, cocktails served in beakers and apothecary beakers, it is also famous for its beautiful garden, which was created similar to summer gardens from years ago, incl. with an awning that adds climate, and is also famous for its friendly and professional service, I think it is such a gem on our market.
